The Spark Makerspace Crowdfunding
Learning + Doing
The Spark is a student‑focused service division within the UNT Libraries, but it’s more than just a place.
It’s an experience.
This daring mashup of hands-on makerspace and circulating collection offers robotics and power tools, cameras and textiles… gear for machining, crafting, programming, prototyping and 3D printing.
For building. Failing. Testing. Revising.
Learning.
This is where access becomes experience.
Transformational education happens when students are given room to explore, permission to fail, and support to try again.
At the Spark, UNT students:
- Experiment with tools and materials they might not otherwise access
- Translate classroom knowledge into physical and digital applications
- Innovate across disciplines in a collaborative, welcoming environment
- Develop confidence in navigating challenges and outcomes
- Build workforce readiness by gaining expertise in equipment and technology
With this kind of learning, students prepare for more than graduation — they are ready to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
Your donation keeps tools, materials and technologies available to all students, while providing guidance and training from knowledgeable staff. Your gift extends opportunities for hands‑on learning across disciplines and maintains a safe, respectful and accountable learning environment.
Join us in supporting an experiential learning space where students don’t just imagine what’s possible — they build it.
UNT has implemented a new gift allocation policy, UNT Policy 09.003 Gift Allocation, designed to maximize the impact of your giving. Please visit our Gift Allocation FAQ page to learn more.
